Mitchell Marsh Falls Short of Century, Joins Unwanted IPL Club

Mitchell Marsh bludgeoned 11 boundaries and five huge sixes in his cracking half-century against the Rajasthan Royals in match 64 of the IPL 2026 season. However, the cricketer missed out on a well-deserved century by just four runs as he was dismissed in the final over of the innings under dramatic circumstances.

For the second time in succession this season, Marsh was dismissed in the 90s courtesy of a run out, this time falling short of his crease to a bullet throw from Royals stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Mitchell Marsh Strengthens His Claim to Join an Unwanted IPL Club

Just a few days ago, Mitchell Marsh became only the fourth cricketer in the history of the IPL to get dismissed in the 90s courtesy of a run out. The blistering LSG opener blasted 90 runs off just 38 balls in a home game against the CSK, before his six-laden knock was curtailed by a Mukesh Choudhary runout.

In his very next IPL 2026 game against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, Marsh was once again dismissed in the 90s owing to a run out. Approaching his century in the final over of the LSG innings in Jaipur, the attacking opener fell short of his crease when he was trying to complete a double.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s flat throw from long off ensured that Mitchell Marsh walked back with 96 runs to his name from 57 balls with 11 boundaries and five maximums.

Dismissed via Run-out on 90s in IPL

Strengthening his claim in an unwanted club of IPL batters falling short of their centuries owing to a run out, Marsh just ensured that he scripted two of those five rare occasions by himself in the space of a week.
