Nasir Hossain Guides Agrani Bank to Victory in DPL

Agrani Bank Cricket Club pulled off a brilliant comeback victory against Gazi Group Cricketers in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) as they won by four wickets with seven balls to spare.

Batting first at PKSP Ground No. 2 after losing the toss, Gazi Group did not get the start they wanted. Munim Shahriar was dismissed for just 4 runs, while opener Emon Ali contributed 34 before departing. Naeem Ahmed also failed to make a big impact.

Gazi Group Struggle to Find Momentum

Amid the early wickets, Pritom Kumar stood firm and played the key innings for his side. While wickets kept falling at the other end, he kept the scoreboard moving with a composed knock of 72 from 62 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Several batters got starts but could not convert them into big scores. Late in the innings, Rubel Mia added valuable quick runs with a fiery 33 from only 17 balls, including 3 sixes. In the end, Gazi Group finished on 252 for 8.

For Agrani Bank, Arif Ahmed was the standout bowler with four wickets.

Agrani Bank Stage Stunning Recovery

Chasing 253, Agrani Bank found themselves in serious trouble early on. Both openers were dismissed cheaply, while captain Imrul Kayes managed only 16 runs. Marshall Ayub and Zahid Javed also fell quickly as the team slipped to 89 for 5.

Just when the match seemed to be drifting away, Nasir Hossain and Shuvagata Hom produced a stunning recovery. The experienced duo added a match-changing 139-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Shuvagata played aggressively, scoring 78 from 67 balls with 10 boundaries before getting out. Nasir Hossain, however, stayed till the end and guided his team home with a calm and unbeaten 78 from 79 deliveries, including 9 fours and a six.

Tofael Ahmed remained unbeaten on 7 as Agrani Bank completed the chase in dramatic fashion.
